We all know that a Superbowl Party isn’t only defined by the game itself – there’s the hilarious ads, hanging out with a bunch of close friends, and of course, the delicious snacks to be savored over the course of several hours.
But this year, there’s no reason to feel guilty while digging in and filling up your plate (especially if you’re going strong on your healthy NY resolutions!). Whether you’re hosting or attending a pal’s party, whip up one of these nourishing, superfood-packed snacks to win over everyone’s taste buds. One delicious bite of this Green Dream Hummus Dip, this Superfood Popcorn, or these Paleo Zucchini Fries, and it’s simply GAME OVER!
Paleo Zucchini Fries
When I was in the mood for a savory, crunchy snack, I took CaveGirlInTheCity’s zucchini fries recipe and supercharged it with Green Dream, coconut oil, and Himalayan pink salt! Despite how GOOD these fries taste, everyone at your Superbowl party can nosh on an entire tray GUILT FREE. They definitely won’t be around come half-time, so be sure to stash a handful in the kitchen for yourself before taking them over to the living room ;)
Gather This:
- 1 medium zucchini
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil
- 3 tablespoons almond meal
- 1 tablespoon Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend
- ½ tablespoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon Himalayan sea salt
Do This:
Preheat oven to 425 and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, spreading a thin layer of coconut oil on top. Slice the zucchini into pieces that are about the size of matchsticks and then dry off any water droplets with a paper towel.
Beat eggs in a small dish. In another small dish, mix together the almond meal, garlic powder, Green Dream, and salt. Dip the zucchini in the egg and then coat it in the other mixture.
Arrange the zucchini on the baking sheet and bake for about 12-14 minutes. Flip over and bake for another 12-14 minutes.
Green Dream Hummus Dip
Ramp up your snack game with this ultra nourishing, super satisfying homemade hummus. It’s just as easy as making a smoothie and only requires a handful of ingredients to create a creamy dip with a delicious herbal ranch flavor—perfect for pairing with pita bread, wholesome chips, or baby carrots. If you're having a large crew over for your Super Bowl party, double up on the ingredients before whipping together!
Gather This:
- 1 can cooked chickpeas (drained)
- 1⁄3 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic salt
- fresh parsley or dill (for garnish)
Do This:
Combine ingredients in a blender or food processor + blend until smooth. Garnish with fresh parsley and dill (we also added some turmeric for healthy color!) Enjoy with pita bread, veggies, or your favorite wholesome crackers!
Superfood Popcorn
Transform your popcorn into nutritional MVPs by air or oil popping the kernels + mixing them up with the Philosophie blends for an uplifting, nourishing snack!
And while you may have heard that you need to avoid microwave popcorn (which are smothered in salt, unhealthy fats, sugar, and artificial flavorings), popcorn itself is actually super healthy.
Popcorn is packed with whole grains (which hold protein, healthy oils, B vitamins, vitamin E, and minerals!), fiber (which plays a role in keeping you regular and helps prevent cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and high blood cholesterol), and antioxidants (a 2012 University of Scranton study even found that popcorn hulls contain a higher concentration of polyphenol antioxidants than most fruits).
Add in Green Dream, Berry Bliss, or Cacao Magic, and you'll have a satisfyingly crunch snack ready for kickoff.
Gather This:
- organic yellow popcorn
- coconut oil (if popping on a stove with oil)
Popcorn Dream
- 2 tablespoons Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend
- 1/3 cup nutritional yeast
Popcorn Bliss
- 2 tablespoons Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Blend
- 1/3 cup white chocolate powder
Popcorn Magic
- 3 tablespoons Cacao Magic Superfood + Protein Blend
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon pink sea salt
Do This:
Air pop your organic kernels OR cook 1/2 cup of kernels with 1.5 tablespoons of coconut oil (heat the oil in a pot, add the kernels, and evenly shake every ten seconds until the popping slows down). Combine all the ingredients for the blend topping mixes and sprinkle over the popcorn.
