Gluten-Free Chocolate Matcha-Glazed Donuts

Gluten-Free Donuts

We’re celebrating brighter days ahead with these gluten-free, dairy-free chocolate matcha-glazed donuts infused with Philosophie superfoods! These were created by Cheryl (@cherylshealthylife) using Cacao Magic. They're wonderfully light, packed with nutrients and fiber, and won't overwhelm your body with a crazy sugar rush!

Cacao is naturally energizing, as it contains a stimulant called theobromine that gradually releases energy throughout the day, instead of creating the same sort of energy spike as caffeine. And these little donuts are super easy to make—simply blend up all the ingredients, pour the batter into your donut iron, and you’re done! You'll have beautiful, superfood donuts that taste (& look!) delightful dressed up in a matcha glaze & tasty toppings!

Grab a cup of tea & let’s make some Chocolate Matcha Glazed Donuts!

Makes: 6-7

Gather This:

1 ⅓ cup gluten-free flour or 1:1 flour

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

¼ cup cacao powder

2 tbsp Cacao Magic

¼ cup coconut oil

6 tbsp coconut sugar

1 pasture raised eggs egg* to make vegan use 1 flax egg or 2 tbsp applesauce

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp apple cider vinegar

¾ cup non-dairy milk

¼ cup mini chocolate chips

FOR THE MATCHA GLAZE —

1 ⅓ cup powdered sugar

¼ - ½ tsp matcha ceremonial powder

2 tsp fresh lemon juice

Milk to thin (start at a couple of tbsp until it’s thick & smooth)

FOR THE TOPPINGS —

Shaved chocolate

Flaky sea salt

Black sesame seeds

Do This:

(1) Coat a 6 donut pan with cooking spray & preheat oven to 375

(2) In a large mixing bowl, beat the sugar with the oil. Add the egg with vanilla & apple cider vinegar, mix well

(3) Whisk all the dry ingredients in a separate bowl & pour into the wet

(4) Add the milk little at a time & mix until it reaches a smooth consistency

(5) Fold in the chocolate chips & divide batter into the donut molds evenly (easier if you use a pastry bag)

(6) Bake for 10-12 min or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Do not over-bake.

(7) Remove from the oven and let the donuts cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before lifting out

(8) Mix the ingredients for the glaze in a flat-bottom bowl until smooth

(9) Dunk each donut in the glaze twisting so it’s fully coated; top with chocolate/salt/sesame seeds

(10) Best served fresh! ENJOY
