Friendly reminder to own yourself and let go. Eat what you want to eat because you know your fueling your body with the best foods and ingredients. Look at what’s beautiful on your plate and find joy in creating memories around the dinner table.
Philosophie Goddess Marissa Cohen shares her thoughts on the beauty of intuitive eating and what it truly means to have food freedom.

If you are reading this blog post, that means you are blessed to be holding a smartphone in your hand or staring at a laptop, desktop, or tablet. It also means that you have access to grocery stores with aisles of options, restaurants with menu options that accommodate your preferences, and online retailers that can deliver virtually anything you wish to your doorstep in under a week. You have choice. You have freedom.
Within the wellness space we have exploited this abundance. We dissect and discriminate against certain food groups. The result is conflicting diets and programs that tell us to eat plenty of “x” and fearfully avoid “y.” Yes, this stems from good intentions and certain ways of eating can be extremely beneficial + healing to individuals in different circumstances or facing illnesses. Our access to knowledge is another form of privilege. For some, attaching themselves to a way of eating is empowering, exciting, and beneficial. For others, it can go too far. It can lead to anxieties and obsessions. I resonate with both sides, as learning about the power of food as medicine has been healing for me, while getting caught up in the details and “fine tuning” has been detrimental.
I write this to remind you that if you have the ability to eat intuitively — to wake up every day and decide what you want to create from your fridge, order from a meal delivery service, or indulge at a restaurant — you are truly blessed. It is a gift to be able to listen to your body and eat what you know your body wants. It is a privilege to have access to conscious businesses who create products and meal options using organic, wholesome ingredients that can transform us from within (i.e all of the Philosophie Superfood + Protein Blends, Coconut Butters, and Honeys). Many, in fact most, people in this world do not have this available to them. They are grateful to have rice and beans on their plate at dinner. They do not have choice. They do not have the freedom to follow their intuition.
So, I encourage you to listen to your body instead of all the nutrition noise because you can. Why let your power go to the diet industry when you are lucky enough to be able to give your body what it is truly craving on a spiritual and cellular level? We need to remind ourselves to check our privilege and own our power.
