Cacao Magic Donuts Recipe

Happy National Donut Day!!! If you're like me, and LOVE donuts, but not the lethargy + guilt that comes after eating them, I've got the perfect recipe for you! Bake up a batch of these paleo, gluten-free Cacao Magic donuts—they're wonderfully light, packed with protein and fiber, + are won't overwhelm your body with a crazy sugar rush!

Cacao MagicCacao Bee, and coconut flour, which creates a super fluffy texture and adds in extra fiber + protein, are the star ingredients in these superfood confectionaries. Cacao is naturally energizing, as it contains a stimulant called theobromine that gradually releases energy throughout the day, instead of creating the same sort of energy spike as caffeine.

And these little donuts are super easy to make—simply blend up all the ingredients, pour the batter into your donut iron, and voila! You'll have beautiful, superfood donuts that taste (+look!) delightful dressed up in coconut butter frosting + superfood toppings!

Gather This:
For Donuts:

For Frosting:

For Toppings:

  • bee pollen
  • goji berries
  • cacao nibs
  • whatever superfoods you love!

Do This:
Mix all ingredients in the blender. Spray coconut oil spray on the donut iron and add the batter, filling about 1/4" under the top. Remove and let cool before decorating. (if you do not have this iron, you can purchase a donut mold and bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes or until the donuts have set. Test with a toothpick if you aren't sure!)
Melt the coconut butter until you have the desired amount of frosting. Frost your donuts + sprinkle on your toppings of choice.

I just made these this morning and love them! I tried my favorite topping of cinnamon and sugar but the cake-like texture of these, I think, calls for more of frosting topping. Heck, I’m also loving them plain. Thanks for the inspiration!

P.S. I write a blog for my family and friends… today’s post was about my love of Philosophie. Check it out if you’d like here:

Gluten-Free Superfood Crescent Moon Cake Cookies

Celebrating more time at home with my favorite little humans by making these gluten-free superfood crescent moon cake cookies! So in love with how these turned out and the flavor profile they created.

This is such a simple recipe and adds such a wonderful addition to any family dinner or date night. We used Simple Mills Vanilla Cupcake & Cake Mix which is so good! This baking mix is super easy to make, cuts your cook/prep time in half and also uses the best ingredients for your body. It also contains coconut sugar, almond flour and arrowroot. I’m all about balance and this cake mix makes it easy.

We added in two tablespoons of our immune-boosting and beautifying Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Blend which creates a truly blissful experience and added some of our Coconut Magic for healthy fats and extra nutrients then dusted them monk fruit sweetener which is a fantastic substitute for powdered sugar.

Can’t wait for you to try these!

Gather This:

1 box Simple Mills Vanilla Cupcake & Cake Mix

3 eggs + 2 extra egg yolks

⅓ cup high quality, mild-flavored oil (such as grape seed)

⅓ cup water

1 tbsp Coconut Magic Coconut Butter

2 tbsp Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Blend

1 tsp vanilla extract

Monk fruit sweetener

Do This:

Heat oven to 325 and grease a sheet pan.

In a large bowl, beat the eggs, then mix in the oil, water, and vanilla extract.

Once those ingredients are thoroughly combined, stir in the Simple Mills mix, two extra egg yolks, Coconut Magic and Berry Bliss until the batter is smooth.

Bake on a sheet pan 25-30 minutes, and when cooled cut moon shapes out with a cookie cutter.

Blend monk fruit on high in a blender until it makes a powdered sugar consistency. Dust cookies with it when cooled.

Can’t stop, won’t baking! These mini Fall Vibes Brûlée Bites are as yummy as they are cute! Made with a creamy pumpkin, Fall Vibes base and a gingersnap, cinnamon graham cracker crust, this delicious little treat is perfect for your upcoming holiday dinners or everyday snacking.

It’s also acknowledging that your body does not hate sweets and does in fact crave it every once in a while and making these little pumpkin pies with so much love and intention only makes them taste all that much better. This creamy, pumpkin spice flavored dessert is guaranteed to be a family favorite. Share your magical creations with us on Instagram! We’d love to know what you think!

This syrup created by Philosophie Babe, Eva (@evalshipp) is s yummy on oatmeal, pancakes, toast, in smoothies, or by itself! It perfectly balances herbal tea and coats the throat to protect and prevent sore throats & coughs.

Gather This:

1 cup dried elderberries

4-6 cups water

1 cinnamon stick

A big chunk of ginger

½ - ¾ cup Berry Bee Honey
