On Sunday, June 20th we welcome a solstice, an earthly transition. Change is happening. Energy is shifting and we enter a new cycle and season.
For us, in the Northern Hemisphere, we are drifting into the heart of summer - longer days and shorter nights. Physically and energetically we experience more light. This is a time of celebration, to honor the fire within. When lightness feels heavy and all you can see and feel is darkness, follow precious moments and experiences that make you feel light again.
Go to the light. Live in the light. Love in the light. Decide, this season, to be the light.
We are also entering feminine, watery and motherly Cancer season. Astrologically, the Sun is associated with masculine energy. Cancer season rules the feminine energy and is ruled by the Moon. This is a divine time of balance.
Use this season to reflect on ways you can balance the masculine and feminine within. Where can you be more gentle, open and receptive? Where can you be more fiery, action-oriented and decivide? We all contain both energies within us, the solstice is a beautiful moment to widen what this means to us.
On the summer solstice rituals are performed all over the world to celebrate Earth’s abundance and remind us of the fullness of our lives. We’re sharing some of our favorite rituals to help celebrate this transition and maye make some of these rituals into a daily recurrence.
Celebrate the summer solstice with these soul-expanding rituals!
Set intentions and manifestations for the season ahead. At every new season we begin again. Summer is a season of letting go, of ending to start new. Set out intentions and manifestations for how you want to feel at the end of summer. What do you want to create?
Toast to the season with a Sunshine Drops Mocktail. Make it a season of hydration and elevate your water with herbal infusions, superfoods and chlorophyll. Take water, lemon, mint and of course, Sunshine Drops then pour over ice and enjoy!
Gather with others and celebrate. This is a season of gatherings and reunions! Exchange songs, stories, and poems with loved ones. Dance, sing and celebrate.
Light a fire (or burn candles). You can make a big fire like a bonfire with friends or a small fire in the form of a candle and it can be just as powerful.
Journal. On the solstice, the sun is at its peak. Use the following prompts to inspire you and reflect -
- Write about a time you recently felt at your peak? What have you accomplished recently that you feel proud of?
- This is a time of letting go. What has reached its end in your life? What no longer serves you? How will releasing this allow you to change and grow?
