Balance is key... during our personal time, in our work environments, and of course, inside our bodies!!! When it comes to food, it’s not only important to pay attention to the quality of the ingredients that we eat, but to be aware of their acidity levels as well.
When we eat foods that are too acidic, we run the risk of throwing our body’s pH level out of whack. And when this happens, we feel sick, we can get nasty digestive issues, feel super tired… all of the yucky stuff that makes us feel less than “ok”. This is why adding alkaline foods to our diet is a positive way to getting our bodies back on track- to balance out the acids, and leave us feeling restored and energized.
Since it has been crazy HOT outside, I decided to have a go at an Alkaline smoothie. I basically just gathered ingredients that I would incorporate into an alkaline juice, added some frozen banana and a little ice.. And BOOM! Super refreshing, super alkaline, and super delicious! I also scooped in a little Green Dream for some plant-based protein.
This was a perfectly refreshing + energizing treat for a mid-summer day in LA, but could easily be a go-to breakfast smoothie!
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 large handful of spinach
- 1 small handful of parsley (or wheatgrass/sprout blend)
- ½ cup of carrot juice
- 1 cup of pH 9.5 alkaline water
- Juice of ½ a lemon
- 1 tablespoon Green Dream Superfood Protein + Blend
Blend + Enjoy!!
