Cutting Back on Coffee + Matcha Latte Recipe
Mornings are 10x better with a hot cup of coffee and I would drink it everyday. After a while, I found I was having panic attacks more frequent and my anxiety was more intense. Not to mention, since I found out I was pregnant I have had strong aversions and coffee was at the top (see more about my pregnancy journey on my YouTube). I decided to cut back on my coffee intake to 1-2 times a week and I feel so much better. I switched to coffee alternatives and one of my favorites is a delicious matcha latte.
Now, everybody is different and what works for me might not work you. It’s also not terrible to have coffee every morning, but why not switch it up sometimes? You’re body will thank you for the fuel in fun, different ways.
Matcha is a very trendy ingredient in the wellness world right now, but it’s been in Japanese and Chinese mugs for thousands of years. In Japanese “cha” means tea, and “ma” means powder, thus the word matcha translates literally as powdered green tea. It is believed that the very first green tea seeds were brought to Japan from China by the Zen Monk Eisai in 1191 A.D., who planted them on the temple grounds in Kyoto.
