Heart of the Week: Self-Care + Beauty Tips for a New Mom

These last few weeks with angel babe, Noa, have been pure magic. She is so beautiful and so sweet. I’ve been cherishing every moment and keeping her as close as I can.

All who follow me on social media know the whirlwind of a pregnancy it was and labor/postpartum has proved no less challenging. As a new mama once again, I have devoted time to taking care of my skin and my body. Not only for my own health and wellbeing but also for little miss.

Here are my absolute favorite butters, lotions and oils for pregnancy and post baby! Most important is to drink tons of water and stay hydrated because baby is sucking the life out of you! You'll notice you always feel thirsty. By the time you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated. After the bath or shower, coat your belly, thighs, legs, booty and breasts with these oils/butters and lotions. Try and do it every day to make sure your get the minimum amount of stretch marks and dry skin.

I love doing a Philosophie Detox Bath Soak at least 1-2 times a week and scrubbing my body with the hand glove it comes with for exfoliating.

Chrysalis Body Oil + Chrysalis Water (instant refreshers for your skin!)

Zoe Organic Belly Oil + Butter (pure, safe and effective solutions for new moms and babies)

Erbaviva Shaping Oil (warms the skin for healthy circulation)

Nucifera Balm (called THE BALM because it’s that good!)

Face Masks (I use Philosophie Green Dream with a bit of water or I love Ahava Purifying Mud Mask)

I also want to share with you all about my frustrations with Malasma (brown spots that appeared during each pregnancy and didn't leave) and that I've tried so SO SO many things and nothing has helped.

A little while ago I went to my first IPL facial at Lasky Aestitics in Beverly Hills and was blown away by the center itself, care, concern, professionalism and RESULTS. In 10 days my spots were significantly lighter and were PEELING OFF my face. I cried one day because I woke up and felt so so, so much different. I haven't been wearing makeup at all and then one day I DID and my face seemed 100% CLEAR, usually when wearing makeup I could still see all the spots through my makeup. I was always self conscious of it, but not anymore!

I also encourage all mamas to visit my babes at Beba Beauty for eyelash extensions. You have no idea how much energy it saves me each morning. I have so much more confidence even going bare-faced, which is practically every day with a newborn.

My last saving grace beauty tip with a newborn is a good Vitamin C serum and powder from True Botanicals, which I have used every evening since giving birth.

Yes, the days and weeks immediately after birth is all about little babe but don’t forget to take care of yourself too, mama! So much love for you all!
