Fall in A Cup Smoothie

You all know what time of year it is....PUMPKIN EVERYTHING SEASON!!! The time of year where you can wear your basic with pride (let’s be honest, wear your basic with pride all year long). This smoothie literally tastes like CAKE BATTER! PUMPKIN PIE CAKE BATTER!! Honestly way more dessert-y than I expected for a smoothie!!! I’ve made two variations (one with pluots and one with persimmons), and both are equally as delicious! Does anyone know what a pluot is? It’s a hybrid between a plum and an apricot and they’re DELICIOUS! I love finding unique fruits at my local farmer’s market! Persimmons are one of my favorite fruits! I can’t believe I didn’t try one for the first time until I was in my 20s...I was SERIOUSLY missing out!!!

After eating this I felt totally full from all the fiber, and the sweetness satisfied my cravings without me feeling like I needed to eat a whole pumpkin pie. With regular desserts made with real sugar, dairy, and cream...there’s no stopping me! I seriously don’t feel full at all and continue to stuff my face and proceed to feel so uncomfortable later. Sugar is seriously addicting! Treats like this smoothie taste delicious but are full of nutrients, so your body will feel happy and fulfilled!

  2. Cutting open and scooping out the contents of a pumpkin to use it as your cup is totally optional but highly recommended ;)

Savory Green Dream Trail Mix Recipe

I can’t get enough trail mix in a single day. When I’m out in the world - hiking, walking, or just getting from one activity to the other - trail mix is one of my favorite sources of fuel. The problem with most trail mixes, however, is the excessive sugar and unhealthy fat that comes with them. These make the mix yummy while you’re eating it but lead to a hard crash and low energy soon after you eat them. There are two ways to beat that problem - by making trail mix at home, and by going against the grain with a trail mix that’s savory rather than sweet. That’s right - I think trail mix shouldn’t need M&Ms, caramel chips, or sugary, processed fruit chunks to be desirable as a snack.


In fact, this savory trail mix beats just about every sweet, store-bought version I’ve ever had. My boys need lots of vitamins and minerals to keep their growing, active bodies full of energy, and they love the savory alternative this recipe provides. It’s got everything you love in a traditional trail mix, like almonds, cashews, and walnuts. These nuts are great sources of healthy protein and fat, with the benefit of being really filling. I also included pumpkin seeds, which are probably the most nutrient-rich seed you can eat.


One key ingredient of this recipe is dried golden berries. These may look like cranberries or raisins, but they’re actually similar to a tomatillo or cherry tomato with a sort of tropical sweetness, like mango or pineapple. Not only do they give this mix a tangy twist, but they’re also full of fiber, Vitamin C, and Thiamine, among a whole bunch of other essential nutrients and minerals.


All you need to do to make this trail mix is follow the recipe in the name. Gather the ingredients mentioned and mix them well in a bowl. Once all the ingredients have gotten to know each other, introduce them to our Green Dream Savory seasoning for a superfood burst that ties all the flavors together. Then, once you’ve got the mix, find yourself a trail and get snacking!

Gather This:

½ cup almonds

¼ cup pumpkin seeds

¼ cup walnuts

¼ cup cashews

2 tbsp coconut shreds

2 tbsp Goldenberries

1 tbsp Green Dream Savory Seasoning

 

Do This:

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and combine well. Top final mixture with additional coconut shreds, golden berries, and Green Dream Savory Seasoning, to taste.

Pitaya Strawberry Smoothie Bowl Recipe

It’s heating up and we’re EMBRACING the season changing with all the smoothie bowls and colorful dishes you could ever imagine. We have so many gorgeous and nourishing recipes coming to the blog but in the meantime, we’re sharing one of our favorite vibrant smoothie bowls. This pitaya strawberry smoothie bowl is the perfect welcome summer dish on a mid-week day.


Summer right around the corner also means its strawberry season! Fruit bowls are best enjoyed in the sunshine, or after an afternoon cycle sesh (shouts out to CycleBar in Culver City - go if you haven’t yet!), or as morning wake-up juice. We’ve also added our favorite Pitaya Plus Smoothie Packet to this beauty for some extra vitamins and nutrients. These packets are made with organic pitaya (also known as dragon fruit) and are known for there bright pink color. Pitaya is high in fiber and iron, a rich source of antioxidants, and is a powerful source of vitamin C; combined with our Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Blend and your stopping any sickness from ever entering your sacred body temple. 1 cup frozen mango chunks

Baked Avocado Egg Recipe

I love a good breakfast, but when you’ve got several mouths to feed – including your own – cooking it can feel like a total chore. Because of this, I need a solid go-to breakfast option that doesn’t disrupt my important morning ritual and gives my body all of the nutrition it needs to get through my day. That’s why I love this simple recipe that meets all of my body’s needs, tastes great, and takes no time at all to prepare.

 

Baked Avocado Eggs are a staple of Paleo cooking that provides everything you need in a breakfast. All you do is slice an avocado lengthwise, remove the pit, and crack and egg in the cavity of each slice before throwing it in the oven. That’s it!

 

Both avocados and eggs have plenty of healthy fat to fill you up in the morning, and eggs are an excellent source of protein, the nutrient you need most after a night of rest. For an extra protein boost, I love sprinkling my avocado egg with Green Dream Savory Seasoning, which includes nutritional yeast and Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend. Nutritional yeast is a fantastic and delicious source of natural protein, B vitamins, and crucial trace minerals like zinc and manganese, which is why I included it in the Savory Seasoning.

 

I also toss a few hemp seeds on the avocado when it comes of the oven. Hemp seeds are another awesome source of protein and healthy fats, with the extra benefits of minerals like potassium, iron, zinc, and calcium. They add a really nice nutty flavor to the avocado egg and have this chewy texture similar to chia or flax seeds.

 

Prepping this for the oven can take less than 1 minute and only needs about 15-20 minutes in the oven, depending on how you like the texture of your egg. That’s a perfect amount of time to do a short workout, meditate, put on your make up, or get your kiddos ready for school. Try it out for yourself and feel free to experiment with your favorite toppings!

Gather This:

2 medium eggs

1 ripe avocado

½ tsp Green Dream Savory Seasoning

Hemp seeds


Do This:

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Slice avocado lengthwise and remove pit. Scoop out about 1 tbsp of avocado to create more room for the egg. Place avocado on a baking sheet flesh-side up (if the avocado tilts sideways, make a little stand out of aluminum foil to prop it up). Crack one egg into the cavity of each avocado half. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and season with Green Dream Savory Seasoning and hemp seeds. Let cool and enjoy!

Green Dream Pear Matcha Latte Recipe

After a long weekend, an energizing and detoxifying smoothie is an absolute must. We celebrated baby Noa almost turning ONE! I can’t believe nearly a year has gone since our little babe has been earthside. We had friends and family over who have stood by us for this whole journey for a little house party with lots of yummy food, a magical unicorn cake and even an alpaca!


Easing back into my work after the celebrations of this weekend means soft + gentle mornings and lots of nourishing foods and drinks like this Green Dream Pear Matcha Latte. I love energizing with this vibrant green matcha latte! Matcha provides a boost of energy without leading to the usual caffeine crash that accompanies coffee. This beautiful powder is also incredibly healing and is chockfull of catchechins, which aid in counteracting the harmful effects of free radicals.

Gather This:

1 banana

1 pear

1 lime

1 handful spinach

1 tbsp Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend

1 tsp matcha

1 cup water or nut milk

1 handful of ice cubes


Do This:

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. To make it hot, heat on the stove after blended. Finish with a swirl of Green Bee Honey and enjoy!!

Mediterranean Roasted Spring Vegetable Pasta Recipe

Sometimes you crave a delicious bowl of pasta and that is perfectly okay! Our beautiful Philosophie Babe, Marissa Cohen (@cohenmarissafaith) shared this tasty spring veggies pasta bowl recipe and we’re in heaven!


Pasta is an all-around crowd pleaser! For a plant-based, protein-rich meal I combined chickpea pasta with veggies roasted in the new Green Dream Savory Blend and finished it off with fresh herbs, hemp seeds, and Kalamata olives. I chose asparagus and zucchini, which are abundant during the springtime, but feel free to use whatever vegetables you have on hand! This is the perfect quick-and-easy dinner for one, but also can be made in big batches to share with loved ones.


Gather This:

Chickpea pasta (or any pasta of choice)

1 bunch asparagus (chopped)

1 zucchini (chopped)

Small handful of fresh basil

Small handful of fresh parsley

1 tablespoon of chopped Kalamata olives

1 tsp Green Dream Savory Blend

Black pepper

A sprinkle of hemp seeds

1 tablespoon of olive oil


Do This:

For the roasted vegetables: Cover the chopped vegetables in olive oil and Green Dream Savory Blend and bake at 375 F for 15 minutes.

For the pasta: Follow the box instructions and prepare the pasta accordingly.

For the toppings: While the pasta and vegetables cook, chop your herbs and olives and set aside

To assemble: Drain the pasta and mix in the roasted vegetables. Serve topped with hemp seeds, herbs, olives, fresh cracked black pepper, and an extra drizzle of olive oil.
