Sophie's 6 Favorite Pumpkin Recipes

It’s almost Thanksgiving, gang! I’m counting down the days until I can sink my teeth into a gooey slice of my Persimmon Pumpkin Pie topped with a mountain of coconut whipped cream. Pumpkin Pie isn’t the only pumpkin recipe worth salivating over! This whole season is filled with tons of creative ways to use this seasonal ingredient. I absolutely love using pumpkin because it’s actually super beneficial and nutrient dense. Pumpkin pie gives it a bad rep, but it’s actually full of health! The carotenoids that give the squash their bright orange color is converted by the body into vitamin A, which promotes skin and eye health. One particular carotenoid that can be found in pumpkins, beta-carotene, is an antioxidant that has even been linked to a decreased risk of some cancers. Pumpkins are also full of digestion-friendly, hunger-curbing fiber as well as potassium, a vital mineral which can help balance electrolytes after an intense fitness sesh.

Here are my favorite pumpkin recipes from Pumpkin Season’s past and why I love them so much!!

1) Persimmon Pumpkin Pie

Persimmon+Pumpkin=BAE. End of story. I can’t believe it took me so long to get on the persimmon train, but I’m so glad that I finally did! Boosting this recipe with Philosophie Superfoods elevates this dessert to the next level. Both persimmons and coconut are incredibly high in fiber, which means that a small slice of pie was delightfully filling, and it’s hard to feel too bad about indulging in dessert when it’s packed with antioxidants and immunity boosting vitamin C from the Berry Bliss!

2) Protein Pumpkin Muffins

This muffin recipe is unlike any you’ve ever had before! SERIOUSLY! Muffins are generally just balls of dough that offer ZERO nutritional value...not these ones!! You can boost this recipe with Cacao Magic for a chocolatey treat, or just stick to Berry Bliss for something more neutral! This recipe is totally GF and paleo, and loaded with protein from the Philosophie powders and egg whites.

3) Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies

This cookie recipe is filled with my favorite--healthy fats!! Plus Green goodness from my Green Dream Superfood Blend!! Pumpkins can actually curb hunger because of all of their fiber, making it easier to feel satisfied with less. I know I can’t control myself around baked goods, but these are truly satisfying and don’t leave you craving more!

4) Holiday Paleo Pumpkin Waffles

Holy yum! These are seriously EPIC! I mean, just look at that picture! This is probably my favorite breakfast to make for the kids. We make this yearround, since you can buy canned organic pumpkin all of the time! I usually make a huge batch of this on the weekends and then freeze half of it for quit and gourmet brekkys throughout the week! I absolutely love that the kids gobble up these protein-rich waffles! Plus, they’re full of tons of phytonutrients and green goodness from the spinach and Green Dream!

5) Pumpkin Pie Mousse

This is such a hearty and fulfilling dessert! You can think of this recipe as a pumpkin pie without the crust, and it is SO good. I love that it’s a cinch to whip up, lasts a good few days in the fridge + is, in my opinion, even more delicious cold.

6) Fall In A Cup Smoothie

After eating this pumpkin pie flavored smoothie, I felt totally full from all the fiber, and the sweetness satisfied my cravings without me feeling like I needed to eat a whole pumpkin pie. With regular desserts made with real sugar, dairy, and cream...there’s no stopping me! I seriously don’t feel full at all and continue to stuff my face and proceed to feel so uncomfortable later. Sugar is seriously addicting! Treats like this smoothie taste delicious but are full of nutrients, so your body will feel happy and fulfilled! Summer Berry Salad with Berry Honey Dressing

Been feeling the urge to fuel my body with more organic fruits and vibrant greens so I’m whipping up a refreshing, summery salad bowl topped with my favorite homemade dressing using Berry Bee Honey + Berry Bliss.


Not enough people are talking about how important it is to support your immunity during these times. I’m giving each of my kiddos a small spoonful of Berry Bee Honey daily to help support their immunity and flood their bodies with vitamin C. We’re adding it to meals as much as we can like in this salad dressing or in our tea, smoothies and desserts. We feel better when we make trips to the store or go to the local park because we know our systems are supported and strong. 


Pair this salad with our grounding beet smoothie or a huge glass of chlorophyll water and you’re ready to go!


Gather This:

1 bag mixed greens

1 cup strawberries (sliced)

1 cup blueberries

½ cup raspberries

1 cup coconut 

1 ½ cups silvered almonds

Handful of edible flowers

Sprinkle of bee pollen

DRESSING 

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp Berry Bee Honey

1 tbsp Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Blend

Splash apple cider vinegar

Do This:

Chop your lettuce into small bite-sized pieces and add to a large bowl.

Pour berries on top of lettuce in the bowl.

Add your almonds and bee pollen on top of the berries.

Stir everything together.

Make your dressing on the side by adding all ingredients to a small bowl and stirring well. 

Generously pour your dressing over the salad, mix and enjoy!

We’re sharing a fun, summer recipe perfect for your littles and instant crowd-pleasers!


Whip up these red, white & blueberries yogurt bites as a celebration for YOU - for how far you’ve come and how far you’ll go. For the milestones you’ve reached and the values you’ve built within you and your family. For the commitment to learning and evolving. For being willing to surrender, admit to mistakes and rise above.


We’ll be making these beauties all summer long! They’re super easy to make and a fantastic healthy snack alternative for your kiddos. Add in Philosophie Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Blend for that extra dose of vitamin C and immunity support - so needed!

Gather This:

1 ½ cup yogurt

1 tsp Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Blend

1 cup mix of berries

Optional: Berry Bee Honey


Do This:

Combine the yogurt, Berry Bliss and berries in a small bowl. Scoop into an ice mold (make it fun by using one with fun shapes) and freeze for 3+ hours. Drizzle with Berry Bee Honey and enjoy poolside!

Kid-Friendly Nourishing Green Smoothie

I went on live yesterday with my girl Melissa Wood for what was originally planned as a fun workout + smoothie creation sesh that shifted into a beautiful, raw conversation on freeing yourself from labels to open up to more FREEDOM and expansion. We were able to squeeze in a quick little 10-minute hit workout and made these super nourishing smoothies to fuel our bods! We chatted about how important it is to show up to our lives in authentic ways and when you have a platform it is your responsibility to live entirely in your truth. When you free + liberate yourself without boundaries you are allowing others who see you do the same. This smoothie is loaded with so much goodness your kiddos will love it too! Smoothies are the easiest way to facilitate nutrients to their little bodies. All 3 of my kiddos have grown up on smoothies and LOVE them.


It’s loaded with a blend of coconut water + nut milk giving it a touch of sweetness from the coconut, frozen banana to make it thick promotes healthy digestion, greens, berries, a date (nature’s candy), and superfoods! It’s super easy and you can make it entirely yours with whatever you have in your kitchen.

Gather This:

½ cup coconut water

½ cup nut milk

1 frozen banana

Handful of strawberries (tip: keep the stems on for extra greens!)

Date (1-3 depending on how sweet you want it!)

Handful of greens of choice

2 tbsp Cacao Magic Superfood + Protein Blend OR 1 tbsp Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Blend and 1 tbsp Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend

Topped with: Bee Pollen, a scoop of Culina yogurt alternative


Do This:

Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender then pour into your favorite glass and top with bee pollen and a scoop of Culina yogurt alternative. ENJOY!

Naturally-Energizing Honey Matcha Latte

What a wild year this one has been and so heavy. Lately, I’ve found myself in flight or fight response and my nervous system is shot since COVID, quarantine, BLM, and our world being in a state of collapse. My sleep is off, my anxiety is high and I’m not here for it.


Intuitively, I knew it was time for a break on many levels and this week have decided to slow down, sleep more and take a break from caffeine. I usually start my day with a delicious cup of superfood coffee full of plant-based protein and good, healthy fats but last week I was starting to feel anxious and nauseous after only one cup. My superfood coffee is so good for the body, I knew this was a response to my high stress + anxiety so it was time for a break.


I’m sharing a naturally-energizing honey matcha latte made with our Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend and Green Bee Honey! So far I feel amazing and my adrenals are getting the break they need to reset. This matcha latte is perfect for mornings and can be easily adapted into a nourishing boost when you add coconut butter, nut butter or soaked nuts. 


Listen to your body! It knows best what it needs for healing.

Gather This:

6-8 oz dairy-free milk

1 tsp matcha powder

1 tsp Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend 

1 tsp Green Bee Manuka Honey

1 tsp ashwagandha powder

1-2 tbsp coconut butter or almond butter or a handful of soaked nuts (optional) 


Do This:

Blend 'til frothy! To make into a meal replacement, add the coconut butter/almond butter/handful of soaked nuts.

Hydrating + Energizing Gummy Snacks

We LOVE summertime over here and as a true California company, we can’t get enough of the sunshine. Days spent outside means more hydration! Philosophie Babe, Monette Moio of Glazed and Confused (@glazedandconfused.co) whipped up these super simple and tasty hydrating gummies using our newest beauty, Hydrating Dream!


With three kiddos it can be a challenge to get them to drink more water and now that they’re constantly in and out of the pool it’s even more important that I keep their little bodies hydrated. Finding fun and delicious ways to hydrate is a summertime tradition. These gummy snacks are so much better than the common gummy bears and taste SO good! Totally kid-friendly and mamas will love them too.


These little tasty treats are made with coconut water (great for electrolytes), Green Bee Honey (a natural immune-boosting sweetener) and the star - Hydrating Dream (our newest babe full of electrolytes and protein-rich superfoods). Grab a fun ice mold with different shapes and you’re good to go! 


Try these babies out with a huge glass of Liquid Sunshine! Your body will thank you.

Gather This:

1 cup Coconut Water (or coconut milk! Any flavored liquid works)

1 packet Hydrating Dream

2 tbsp Green Bee Honey

3 Scoops Vital Proteins Beef Gelatin


Do This:

In a medium saucepan, heat coconut water over medium heat until hot- not boiling! 

Turn heat to low and add Hydrating Dream while whisking, then add Beef Gelatin while whisking to ensure no lumps form.

Remove from heat and add Green Bee Honey. Mix until combined.

Pour mixture into silicone molds or a 8x8 baking dish if you don’t have them. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.

Notes:

*If you have tiny lumps from the gelatin, don’t worry about it. It’ll still work! Also, the Hydrating Dream mixture has chia seeds in it so it could be that.

*Can be stored at room temp.

*You can sub any juice/liquid to this recipe

*Honey can be subbed for any sweetener

Thick + Creamy Cacao Banana Smoothie

Breakfast or dessert? You decide! We love clean + simple smoothies to kick-start our day in the best energy possible. And if you’re craving a chocolaty creation then this is the way to go! If you want it extra tick use a frozen banana and you can absolutely substitute any of these ingredients with what you have on hand. My rule of thumb? Combine fruit + healthy fat + liquid of choice and SUPERFOODS then you’re good to go!


Cacao is rich in antioxidants and provides on hormone-balancing benefits combined with the reishi mushrooms and plant protein found in our Cacao Magic Superfood + Protein Blend you have the perfect morning boost for natural, high-vibrational energy.

Gather This: 

1 frozen banana 

1 cup nut mylk

1 tbsp Cacao Magic Superfood + Protein Blend

1 tbsp Coconut Magic Coconut Butter

1 tbsp your favorite nut butter (we love Georgia Grinders!)

1 pitted date

Toppings: Purely Elizabeth granola, sliced banana, and a drizzle of Cacao Bee Honey


Do This:

Mix all ingredients in a blender. Blend well! Xx
