Superfood-Packed Post-Workout Salad Recipe + Video

Superfood-Packed Post-Workout Salad Recipe + Video

I don’t know about you, but after an intense workout, I’m usually starving. I know that being physically active depletes the body’s reserves of nutrients so I make sure to eat a wholesome meal within 20 – 30 minutes after I wrap up my workout. On the days that I am especially busy, I like to throw together this insanely delicious salad. It’s loaded with superfoods and is incredibly flavorful so I feel satisfied, replenished, and ready to tackle the rest of my day. I listed my favorite brands below, but feel free to experiment with different kinds of fermented veggies, sprouted seeds, and fresh, raw dips or sauces to create a flavor profile you love! If you really want to amp up the nourishment, sprinkle a tablespoon of Green Dream over the salad before tossing so that it blends into the dressings and adds a whopping 10 grams of protein plus healing ingredients like spirulina, maca, and mesquite!

Gather This:

Do This:

Add 2-3 handfuls of greens to a large mixing bowl. Top greens with a couple of large spoonfuls of fermented turnips and another large spoonful of kimchi. Depending on the size of your salad and what flavors you want to be most prominent, dollop 1-2 tablespoons each of fresh pesto, fresh tahini, and the basil garlic dip on top of the salad. Sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of sprouted pumpkin seeds over the salad. If you want an extra boost of protein, add some sliced or cubed grilled chicken or a crumbled veggie burger. If you want to add Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend, sprinkle up to a tablespoon over the ingredients in the mixing bowl. Toss the salad until the ingredients are well-combined and the dips have formed a light coating over the salad ingredients and IN JOY!
