This was my third Wanderlust Squaw Valley adventure, and it was the best one yet! I was reunited with my first ever yoga instructor from over 10 years ago + was connected to SO many incredibly inspiring yoginis from all over the world who spread their light so far + wide.
On my first morning the festival, I woke up super early to go visit my foodie friends, Ksenia (breakfastcriminals.com) from NYC and Alexandra (inmybowl.com) from Washington, DC. They had rented an adorable log cabin just a few minutes away from the event, and I wanted to create smoothie bowls with them + combine our mutual love of Philosophie superfoods with our need for sustained energy throughout the many, many yoga classes and warm, sunny day-long events at the festival.
When I arrived, Ksenia opened the door. She happened to be wearing EXACTLY the same “Free Spirit” t-shirt that I was wearing and even had the same mala necklace draped around her neck. I instantly knew that it was going to be a great, synchronized day after seeing that!
Here's the smoothie bowl we made together for a beautiful + energizing breakfast:
Gather This:
- 2 frozen bananas
- 2 frozen packets Pitaya Plus
- 1 tablespoon Philosophie Berry Bliss Coconut Butter
- 1 tablespoon Philosophie Green Dream Superfood + Protein Powder
- 1 tablespoon Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Powder
- 1/2 fresh mango
- 1/2 avocado
- 8 ounces maple water
- handful of ice
Do This:
Combine the maple water, pitaya, and banana into a high-speed blender. Once blended, add the avocado and mango. Finally, add the Berry Bliss and Green Dream Powders, along with the Berry Bliss Coconut Butter until evenly mixed. If the consistency isn't thick enough for a smoothie bowl, add a handful or two of ice until it's thick and delicious! Add toppings of choice + enjoy in good company!
After making superfood smoothie bowls with my foodie fairies in the morning, I wandered over to the festival to meet with Caley, Caitlin, + Aubrey who were all getting beautiful braids + yogi hair for the day at Aveda. After receiving a chakra reset + a hand massage, I also visited Aveda for a gorgeous yogi braid to play in for the day. We then headed for the hills with a photographer + friends to snap some breathtaking shots in nature.
Taking a class with the beyond inspirational Seane Corne.
The wild flowers were so fragrant + lovely!
