Spring Cleanse Challenge #5 - Clearing Out Paper Clutter

Spring Cleanse Challenge #5 - Clearing Out Paper Clutter

The paper pile always starts small and then grows into a PAPER MOUNTAIN (or maybe you have little paper hills scattered around your house or office). What makes paper especially difficult to tackle is the fact that they're often to-do's in disguise, not just trash that you can instantly discard.

But as Challenge #5 for our Spring Cleanse, we're going to tackle our paper mountains once and for all.

To start, move all of your paper into a single pile. Then sort into 3 smaller piles:

1) Recycle - All expired and outdated paper goes here, along with junk mail, unneeded receipts, etc.

2) Snap + Save - This pile is for informative papers that you either want to physically file away in a proper filing cabinet/folder OR ones that you can take a picture of (and then digitally file away in the right place) and then physically recycle.

3) To-Dos - These could be receipts that need to be input into your accounting system, bills that need to be paid, paperwork that needs completing, or correspondence that needs answers. Put these into an allocated to-do folder (with the most urgent or pressing ones on top) that you always have alongside your planner or journal and then include them in your daily/weekly to-do lists.

As new mail and paperwork comes in, continue this process each day so that a new paper mountain doesn't rise!
